My name is Jordan Winke. My Dad's name is Bill Winke. He took me on my first hunting trip when I was 7. I shot a deer that night. I am 10 now. So far I have shot a deer every year since then.

Last year, I shot a 9 point buck out of the cabin. The cabin was on a bean food plot that year. We used a .50 caliber muzzleloader. That was in the youth season. We made a European mount and now he is hanging on the living room wall.

My brother, Andrew, shot a deer this year. It was an 8 point buck. That  hunt was on Midwest Whitetail Episode 6. It was very exciting. That deer is hanging on Drew's wall.

My Mom has not been quite as lucky as us. She did have an interesting adventure once, though. One day, when she was walking to her stand, our kitty named Buttercup followed her. Mom climbed up to her stand. The cat sat at the bottom. Mom just ignored her. A few minutes later, Mom realized that Butter was in the stand with her. At first, the kitty was above her, trying to come down on her. Finally, Mom reached up and put the cat at her feet on the platform of the stand. Mom hoped Butter would be content sitting there. It wasn't long before Butter tried to force her head up through Mom's bow strings so Mom would pay more attention to her. Mom thought,"Okay, my chances of seeing anything are shot because of this cat." But actually, Mom ended up seeing more deer than she had ever hoped. From that night on, that stand has been known as the Buttercup Stand.

My Dad has had many hunting experiences and takes us hunting at every chance. I'm very glad that he is my Dad and that he takes us hunting.
