This photo has just started floating around the internet and word is that the buck was shot somewhere near Baldwin City, KS.  That is all I know about him, but in this journal entry I am going to attempt to attach a rough gross score to this beast just by looking at the photo.  Here goes.

Brows: 8 inches

G2s: 9 1/2 inches

G3s: 13 inches

G4s: 12 inches

G5s: 4 inches

Beams: Who knows - I'll guess 27 inches, they could be much longer.

Mass: I'll say it averages 5 1/4 all the way out = 21 inches per side

Spread: 24 inches

Abnormal: drop tines of 9, 10 and 13 inches = 32 inches total

Total gross from these numbers: somewhere around 230 to 235 inches.

His typical frame may be bigger so he may go as much much as ten inches larger, putting him closer to the 240+ range.  Whatever it scores it sure is a monster.  If you know anything about this buck please let us know.

I just found out from my friend over in Kansas that the buck grossed 253, so I missed that one by a little bit.  Congratulations to the lucky hunter.  I'm sure the story will come out soon enough.  We'll bring it to you when we can.
